On the final Sunday before the 2020 presidential election, a prominent senator pushed out a reminder of what he called former Vice President Joe Biden’s “huge mess” and again questioned Biden’s candidacy.

On a Fox News program, Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), said the situation regarding the ongoing concern over Biden’s son Hunter and the troubles it’s causing are creating a mess that is “not going away, particularly if Vice President Biden becomes the president.”

Johnson also concluded that former President Barack Obama probably did not encourage the vice president to run for president because of those allegations. “It’s one of the reasons I’ve been saying for quite some time that I never felt that Vice President Biden should ever run for president,” Johnson said.

The Hunter Biden controversy continues as the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is looking at emails that may link the Bidens and Ukrainian natural gas firm, Burisma Holdings, in 2015. Also in the “Sunday Morning Futures” interview was an exchange that referenced a “connect the dots” idea.

“What is going to be coming out in the coming weeks?” host Maria Bartiromo asked Johnson. “There is further analysis of the subpoena’s handwriting and it suggests that the subpoena was served by an FBI agent whose name is Joshua Wilson and over the last five years, he has been working on child pornography issues.

“Connect the dots. If an FBI agent is working on child pornography issues for five years, why is he subpoenaing the laptop of Hunter Biden,” Bartiromo continued. “Should this suggest that there’s a child pornography issue here on that laptop?”

“Well, I think you just made the connection,” Johnson said. “I think this is something the FBI needs to come clean about.”

Doubtless, it’s clear the Hunter Biden issue will continue long after Tuesday.
