In what can only be explained as pure arrogance, lunacy, or an extreme case of puppy love, the president of the University of Michigan has been publicly humiliated and fired over an alleged sexual affair he had with one of his subordinates.

Let’s go back to the summer of 2021, when Mark Schlissel, the now-former president of Michigan, spearheaded a new rule at the University that prohibited someone in a leadership position at the school to “solicit a personal or romantic relationship with someone they have a supervisory authority or career influence over.”

He made it known to all employees that there would be zero tolerance for it, which makes it so ironic and dumbfounding how someone in a position that pays him over $900,000 per year could be so stupid.  When he rammed this new rule, though, he was in the middle of violating the letter of it with someone who worked underneath him.

The University he used to run humiliated the bearded and bespectacled former scholar, releasing a trove of emails between Schlissel and a subordinate.

The details are unbelievable.  On July 1, 2021, an email from Schlissel received from his girlfriend said her “Heart hurts.”  Schlissel responded by saying, “I know. Mine too.”  This is my fault.”

Many of the emails between the two lovebirds were sent from Schlissel’s official school email account.  Numerous messages discussed the travel or dinner plans they were making.

The disgraced president got busted by an anonymous complaint, and when the school investigated, they found it had been going on for years.
