Harry Potter series creator and novelist, JK Rowling, continues to face backlash from some fans after initially sharing her views on transgender rights interfering with “real” women’s rights. The Harry Potter franchise continues to emulate success despite the wildfire that has spread throughout the Twitter verse.

The new Harry Potter Legacy video game, an action role-playing game set in the Wizarding World universe, based on the Harry Potter novels, reached #1 on Steam, PS5 and Xbox, weeks before its official release. On Amazon, both deluxe and regular editions are #1 and #2 on the PS5 best-selling games and hold the #1, #2 and #3 spots for best-selling games on Xbox Series X.

While some fans are excited to be getting their hands on the new game, other fans went to Twitter to share their frustrations on their failed attempt to cancel the author. The widely known radical feminist shows no signs of budging when it comes to her stance on the prioritization of women’s rights over trans rights.

In the midst of angry ex-fans sharing their anger and disappointment with Rowling’s stance, she responded with this tweet:

Regardless of whether you stand for or against JK Rowling’s personal views, the Harry Potter franchise appears to remain un-cancellable. Harry Potter Legacy is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch on February 10, 2023.
