The black market just got excited.

Every time the Second Amendment is at threat, gun sales soar. When will the left learn?

Most recently, the mass shooting in Texas caused outrage worldwide after 21 people died including 19 children.

On May 31, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau introduced new legislation, which is expected to become law, that will effectively freeze all handgun sales in Canada. When mass shootings strike the United States, the grief and debate about firearms spill across the northern border. It was no different this time. “We need only look south of the border to know that if we do not take action, firmly and rapidly, it gets worse,” Trudeau said.

Over 1 million Americans purchased firearms in the month of May alone. This is the 34th month in a row of increased sales.

Gun sales in Canada have spiked after Prime Minister Trudeau announced his plans to ban sales under Bill C-21. Several gun shops reported selling out of handguns after Trudeau announced that it will be illegal to buy, sell, transfer, or import handguns anywhere.”

There are 2,500-gun shops in Canada. All are expected to close shop and go out of business within months, if not weeks. About 55,000 guns were imported to Canada in 2021, but that legal trade will be prohibited going forward.

Canadian gun shop owner Melanie Markling said, “It’s not the people buying these guns who are causing the problems. The guns that are causing the problems are from the people who do not have licenses, guns that are being smuggled in, and people who just have dark motives. The laws that they’re trying to change, trying to enforce, no, that’s not going to help anything.”

“As soon as (the announcement) happened, it was pure mayhem. The phones did not stop ringing. The online orders did not stop,” says Markling.

What will happen as always is the good people won’t be able to get guns to defend themselves and their families. The criminals will always find a way to buy and distribute firearms.

The ban on firearms will not erase the demand for them.

What do you think? Is the second amendment at risk or will things “simmer down” at some point?
