Most people will admit the world has gone mad in many ways but being a human in 2022 is still a pretty good thing.  A Japanese man named Toko would beg to differ, however.  His lifeline dream has been to transform into an animal, and he’s spending a lot of money to make it happen.

He recently commissioned a company called Zeppet to make him a full body border collie costume, which Toko intends to wear and live his life as a dog.

The costume took 40 days to create and cost over $15,000, and Toko should be pleased with Zeppet’s work because he looks just like a dog, judging by his YouTube videos.

Toko is all-in on his canine transformation. An employee of Zeppet said in a recent interview with Mynavijust how meticulous they were constructing the costume.

“The point is that the skeleton of a dog can be reproduced on the skeleton of a human. Since the structure of the skeleton is very different, we spent a lot of time studying how to make it look like a ‘dog.’ In addition, we collect photographs taken from various angles so that the beautiful coat of the collie could be reproduced and devised so that the coat will flow naturally.”

In one of Toko’s video posts, he tries on the costume for the first time and waves his “paw” at the camera.  It’s convincing.

As for why he chose to become a border collie, here’s what he told Mynavi.

“I made it a collie because it looks real when I put it on. My favorite is quadrupedal animals, especially cute ones. Among them, I thought that a big animal close to me would be good, considering that it would be a realistic model, so I decided to make it a dog. I met such a condition and made collie, my favorite breed of dog.”
