The fallout for celebrities caught up in the stench of Sam Bankman-Fried’s tenure at FTX continues, leading to a rather odd and uncomfortable situation for an iconic former NBA star in his old home.

A group of FTX investors has now served Shaquille O’Neal with legal documents related to a second lawsuit — and they were able to get to him as he was outside the Miami Heat arena where he played and won an NBA title with the Heat back in 2006.  Ironically, the venue was formerly known as FTX Arena.

It’s been a bizarre odyssey as the law firm representing the plaintiffs has repeatedly tried to get these lawsuit papers into Shaq’s hands. Last month process servers literally threw papers at Shaq’s SUV in Georgia as he was leaving his home.  So according to a story in the Wall Street Journal, that didn’t count as a legal “serve.”

For the latest attempt on Tuesday, the process server took a video of the event to have proof.  Shaq was given the FTX complaint and documents for a second complaint relating to a class-action case related to Shaq’s NFT venture.

What a mess Bankman-Fried created for his former celeb endorsers.  He was arrested in December and is under house arrest at his parents’ house in Palo Alto, California. He’s pled not guilty to the 13 counts of fraud and conspiracy.

Shaq hasn’t spoken much publicly about his role in FTX.  Back in December, he told CNBC that he was “just a paid spokesperson for a commercial.”

Shaq is one of several celebs who have been sued, including Kevin O’Leary, Naomi Osaka, David Ortiz, Steph Curry, and Gisele Bundchen, but apparently, the only one who has tried and, up until Tuesday, was successful in dodging process servers trying to feed him papers.
