Ultra Music Festival is back and bigger than ever! The question is – are you ready, Miami?

The global phenomenon of music festivals is back in the sunshine state, and while locals do their best to steer clear from the heavy traffic congestion, music fans and tourists from around the world embrace the chaotic weekend as some of the best artists and DJs from around the world come together to deliver one heck of a performance – or performances, I  should say.

Appearing on the main stage throughout the weekend are some of the hottest artists in the house, techno and trance world including Alesso, David Guetta, Griffin, Hardwell, Marshmello, Martin Garrix,  Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, Zedd and more.

And of course, along with over 170,000 EDM fans comes the safety aspect. According to Local 10 News Miami, police officers have asked local drivers to expect heavy traffic during the festival along Northeast Second Avenue and North Miami Avenue and before the after parties in Miami and Miami Beach.

First responders are also preparing to deal with incidents related to drug use and trafficking, dehydration, and theft. The most common item targeted for theft were iPhones.

“We will have plenty of officers at hand and that includes undercover officers inside,” said Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales during a news conference Wednesday. For security reasons, it is not known how many police officers and firefighters will be working throughout the weekend.

There is only so much first responders can do, and with emergency medical assistance needed religiously throughout the years, we can only ask that everyone attending the event please be safe and be aware of their personal consumption as well as their surroundings. Take care of one another.

Oh! And have fun. So. Much. Fun!
