⭐️ Vincent Oshana’s Podcast, FunnyHow? is premiering on Valuetainment on Tuesday, August 2nd!

Vincent Oshana, “Vinnie,” is a Florida-based comedian, actor, and air force veteran who originally hails from Yonkers, NY.

He was most recently seen in the feature film, Fifty Shades of Black opposite Marlon Wayans as well as the MTV series Acting Out, and the comedy series, Return of the Mac on Pop.

Prior credits include the Fox sitcom Til Death and Jaime Foxx’s sketch series In the Flow with Affion Crockett. He was also a cast member on Damon Wayan’s showtime sketch series The Underground.

He also has a half-hour Comedy Central special The Next Level presented by Kevin Hart. His stand-up has also been profiled on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam.

We asked Vinnie a few questions about his upcoming show on Valuetainment Comedy…

Why did you get into comedy?

“I recognized the impact comedians have on people’s lives. When you’re laughing you’re not worried about work.. your problems, or stress. When I make people laugh I give them mental vacations.”

“Even if it’s for 30 seconds or 30 minutes…comedians can take that all away from people [the stress and pain they might be feeling]. “

All those years of performing in front of his dad’s friends finally paid off…

“I was a really funny kid… always the center of attention making anybody laugh. Growing up, I was always doing skits in front of my family because my father would have me perform in front of all his friends at home. My sister would play the piano and me and my brother would act our scenes of movies. We would do stand-up comedy routines… One time, I performed at a restaurant in New York and just did George Carlin‘s entire one-hour special… memorized everything.”

Vinnie has appeared on Patrick Bet-David’s podcast many times…

Why Valuetainment?

“I have to give credit to Instagram for this one… I came across Patrick Bet-David and I thought to myself, ‘that sounds Assyrian!’ So I looked him up and it turns out he was in fact, Assyrian. I spent practically the whole day watching a bunch of his videos and then decided to send him a message on Instagram. He responded, and within an hour he gave me a call. Pat was like ‘Dude, you’re hilarious. Big fan.’

“He said to me, ‘If you want to come down to Florida and check out our studios, let me know, and then one thing led to another…”

“I literally sold everything and left Los Angeles to come here and work with Valuetainment”

“When I came to visit, I fell in love with the vibe of the office so I pulled the trigger and moved down.”

“I literally sold everything and left Los Angeles to come here and work with Valuetainment because I have faith in the brand and founder.”

“Being that he’s an entrepreneur, plus the fact that he’s Assyrian is just amazing to me. I love the mindset he has and everything he stands for and preaches.”

Do you think comedy is dying?

Absolutely. The art is diluted.

Now you make a Tik Tok video and you’re a comedian. It’s become a business and isn’t talent driven. It’s all about the numbers…

What’s diluting the art?

The business side of it… the sales, the political correctness, people’s attention spans, TikTok…

How has political correctness affected comedy?

” There’s boundaries to comedy… You can’t say this and that. The barriers are taking away comedians abilities to make people laugh.

“You can’t fact-check comedy!”

“It’s my opinion, it’s my view. It’s a joke.

“You can’t come to a comedy show and get pissed off or offended. It’s not church”

Any advice for new comedians?

“Albert Einstein said it best. It doesn’t take a genius to do genius work. It just takes persistence.”

“You don’t have to be brilliant to do something that people will consider brilliant. Practice makes perfect.”

“You just have to do things over and over until you get it right.”
