Back in the late 1990’s, a guy by the name of John Ruffo got busted for a $350 million bank fraud scheme.  He was convicted in federal court, and sentenced to 17.5 years in prison.

He was given a $10 million bond, but when it came time to show up to prison to serve his 210 month sentence, he took a pass, and never appeared.

So he was missing, along with $13 million from the crime, and one of the most wanted fugitives in the U.S.  has not been seen in public since.

Or has he?

The man who’s been on the run for 23 years is the same person many people believe was seen at a Los Angeles Dodgers game in August of 2016.  Someone phoned in a tip that they believed Ruffo was sitting about four rows up from home plate at Dodgers Stadium.

A video clip of that game between the Dodgers and Red Sox showed a man that fit Ruffo’s description.  If it’s him, it would have been the first sighing of the crook since a photo of him was taken at an ATM in New York back in 1998.

The Feds figured out the exact seat he was in, and identified the person who bought the ticket, but so far they have not been able to identify the man that was wearing the blue shirt in the photo.

Ever since Ruffo disappeared, the U.S. Marshals Service says it has gone after hundreds of leads about him in the U.S. and around the world.

“He is known to be computer savvy and enjoys fine wines, gambling, and nice hotels. He is reportedly lactose-intolerant. Ruffo was known to be a storyteller, someone who liked to stretch the truth, and had a desire to impress others. He has been called a master manipulator.”

A reward of $25K is being offered for any info that leads to his capture.

If you’re going to an MLB playoff game, keep your eyes peeled.
