Here are five attributes that are guaranteed to get you to where you want to be. These factors involve ZERO talent and tremendous work ethic:
- Being on time: Time is one if not THE most valuable thing in the world. Once it is given, it cannot be taken back. Being on time shows respect, discipline, responsibility, and says you are important for me to be on time. I would suggest you get on “Lombardi time” — 15 minutes EARLY.
- Work Ethic: You won’t fall to the top of the mountain. Your work ethic, and how you execute will pave your pay to the top.
- Effort: Your level of effort is one attribute that stands out when being observed. How hard, focused and intentional are you when completing tasks? Your effort will be noticed and may be the reason your boss chooses his/her next promotion.
- Body Language: Your words can only go so far. Your body language will scream if you are not careful with it. There are many times when you need to refrain from reacting simply based on your emotions. Some days, you won’t feel like giving it everything you got. Be aware of what your shoulders, neck and facial expressions are saying. When you start to notice your body language dipping, change it!
- Energy: There are few things in life that we have control over. The energy in which you do the things in your life is one of them. Bring it!
