At the end of each episode of NBC’s “The Apprentice,” Donald Trump would sit the participants down at a table and listen to them discuss their projects before ultimately unleashing his signature phrase, “You’re fired.” As Election Day draws near, it looks as though Trump is harkening back to his days as a reality TV star as he is reportedly gearing up to tell three top U.S. officials “you’re fired” if he is re-elected.

The three officials Trump has reportedly targeted to replace include FBI Director Christopher Wray, CIA Director Gina Haspel, and Defense Secretary Mark Esper. Trump has been at odds with Haspel recently for her opposition to declassifying documents related to the origins of the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign back in 2016.

Wray has also found himself out of favor with the president over a number of issues, including his failure to remove a number of officials tied to the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign. Wray had been appointed by Trump in June 2017 to replace FBI Director James Comey.

Esper has more recently drawn the president’s ire, as he apparently pushed back on the idea of deploying military to stop the far-left riots that continued most of the summer throughout the country. There have been reports that Esper could also resign if Trump were to be re-elected.

There have been rumors for months that President Trump has solicited recommendations from his close advisors on possible replacements for Wray and more recently for Esper and Haspel.
