Austin Butler stars in the Baz Luhrmann’s ELVIS and sings all of Elvis’ early music in the film.

From his rise to fame to his unprecedented superstardom, rock ‘n’ roll icon Elvis Presley maintains a complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker, over the course of 20 years. Central to Presley’s journey and happiness is one of the most influential people in his life — Priscilla Presley.

For songs from the later years of the singer’s career, Butler’s voice is blended with Elvis himself, according to an interview with Entertainment Weekly,

“Elvis,” a new movie about the rock and roll legend, is now playing in theaters. The film premiered on June 24, and it’s expected to start streaming on HBO Max as early as August 8.

Austin Butler stars as Elvis Presley in the drama, which chronicles the singer’s life from his early days to his rise toward rock and roll stardom. The movie also features Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis’ longtime manager.

The movie also stars Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley, with Helen Thomson and Richard Roxburgh appearing as Elvis’ parents. Baz Luhrmann, who is known for films like “Moulin Rouge!,” “Romeo + Juliet,” and “The Great Gatsby,” directs from a screenplay he co-wrote.

ELVIS PRESLEY’S long-term girlfriend Linda Thompson has blasted the new Baz Luhrmann film.

She told fans “I literally saved his life more than once!” Thompson is not shown in the movie, nor was she consulted or invited to a screening. Linda Thompson was also married to Bruce Jenner and is the mother of Brody and Brandon Jenner.

“Elvis” is expected to be available to stream on HBO Max in August. An official streaming date has not yet been confirmed, but Warner Bros previously announced that all of its films from 2022 will screen in theaters for 45 days before heading to HBO Max.

The movie is rated PG-13 and is 2 hours and 39 minutes long.
