Tucker Carlson’s long-awaited announcement after being let go from Fox News was tweeted out yesterday afternoon. Carlson’s video has garnered close to 90 million views in less than 24 hours – numbers he would have never reached on cable television even though his show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight” was the most watched news network on television.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter the same day to respond to Carlson’s recent announcement. He began his tweet by praising the social media platform for having transformed back into an avenue of conversation and free thinking.

“On this platform, unlike the one-way street of broadcast, people are able to interact, critique and refute whatever is said.” Musk continued by assuring users that “anything misleading will get @CommunityNotes.”

And in wonderment whether Carlson officially signed with Elon Musk and Twitter, the billionaire made it clear that they have “not signed a deal of any kind whatsoever. Tucker is subject to the same rules & rewards of all content creators.”

“Rewards means subscriptions and advertising revenue share (coming soon), which is a function of how many people subscribe and the advertising views associated with the content.” Musk closed out his tweet by hoping that more content creators use the platform for similar endeavors – including the radical left.

It will be interesting to see how that invitation unravels.
