Elon Musk and drama seem to be attached at the hip. Usually, it’s regarding a business deal or a new baby or girlfriend he’s dating, but over the weekend, something more serious and salacious was being reported; that he had an affair with Goggle co-founder Sergey Brin’s wife.

Musk responded to the rumors that were continuing to gain steam and denied them.

Here’s what he tweeted late Sunday.

“This is total bs. Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night!”

That seems to settle the matter pretty much.

The reports claimed Musk was the reason Brin filed for divorce from Nicole Shanahan in January, reportedly after he learned she and Musk had hooked up.

The Wall Street Journal was the publication reporting the story.  Their report claimed the alleged affair occurred during the Art Basel art festival in Miami.  The paper claimed that the affair continued for a while after the event ended.

Musk addressed those allegations as well in his tweet.

I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.”

This is some interesting subject matter for the WSJ to wade into, and Musk addressed them in a tweet too, calling them a “sub tabloid” that relied on “third-party random heresy.”

Musk is already in the middle of the biggest lawsuit on the planet right now regarding his planned $44 billion purchase of Twitter.  Could he be gearing up for another against the WSJ if this story is a fabrication?  Here’s more from his series of tweets on the matter.

“WSJ is supposed to have a high standard for journalism and, right now, they are way sub tabloid. WSJ should be running stories that actually matter to their readers and have solid factual basis, not third-party random hearsay.”

These are the hazards that accompany being the richest person in the world with a net worth of $240 billion.
