On Friday, footage emerged of a wild act of vandalism in a parking lot full of unattended new Tesla Cybertrucks in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The graffiti, reading “f**k elon,” was seen sprayed on the hoods of just about every vehicle in the lot.

Local social media account “Only in Broward” posted the footage, sharing it with its Miami counterpart “Only in Dade” and writing that the incident allegedly occurred around the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and US Highway 1.

According to the person heard in the video recording, the parking lot had been empty for years before recently being leased to Tesla.

The Cybertruck, Tesla’s new apocalypse-ready electric vehicle, is officially advertised as being “built for any planet.” It can tow 11,000 pounds, travel 340 miles without a charge, and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds. Its stainless steel exterior means that it has no paint and thus cannot chip—although it appears it is not resistant to spray paint.

According to social media users, the Cybertruck was made available to Miami-area residents as early as November 2023.

This is a developing story. Check back later for more updates.
