Former President Donald Trump made his first X posts in nearly a year on Monday, amassing millions of views on multiple posts ahead of a live interview with platform owner Elon Musk scheduled for Monday night. Since being banned from the platform on January 6, 2021, then reinstated in November 2022, Trump has posted to the platform only one other time, sharing his Fulton County mugshot on August 24, 2023.

Trump’s first post features a two-and-a-half-minute campaign ad comprised of clips from his 2016 election victory, his 2024 campaign, and his first term in office. Since upload, the video has been seen 11.8 million times.

A follow-up post asks voters if they are better off now than they were during Trump’s administration, highlighting the failures of the Biden-Harris administration. “Our economy is shattered. Our border has been erased. We’re a nation in decline,” Trump wrote. “Make the American Dream AFFORDABLE again. Make America SAFE again. Make America GREAT Again!”

Additional posts promoted the upcoming interview between Trump and Elon Musk, scheduled for 8 pm EST. Musk fully endorsed Trump’s reelection campaign after the former president was nearly killed by a shooter in Butler, Pennsylvania last month.

More posts from Trump and his campaign continued to roll in on the long-dormant X account, indicating that the former president is likely making a full return to the platform four months out from the November election.
