Is Ron DeSantis ready to announce his candidacy?!

The notorious Florida governor is planning a fundraiser in Utah later this month with some of the party’s wealthiest donors, teasing a very likely presidential run in 2024.

Endorsed by Joe Rogan and Elon Musk

DeSantis has not ruled out a run for president in 2024 and has already been endorsed by many notable figures including Joe Rogan and Elon Musk.

A spokeswoman for DeSantis (Lindsey Curnutte), would not confirm any details, admitting that the campaign does not “discuss private fundraising events with members of the press.”

DeSantis is going to Utah during the week of July 18 for the private event, according to people familiar with the matter.

HIGH DISCRETION

The DeSantis campaign is attempting to keep the event as “private” as possible and away from the media’s attention.

While the event is supposedly to raise money for his re-election campaign as Florida’s governor in the approaching 2022 election, many speculate why he is going as far as Utah to raise money…

Carson Jorgensen, the chairman of Utah’s Republican Party, said the party is not co-hosting the event, but it will likely send someone for breakfast and lunch with Governor DeSantis.

Jorgensen mentioned that the event is privately hosted and unavailable to the press.

“We just want to see more events done in the state supporting great candidates across the country,” Jorgensen said in a text message. He did not confirm a date of the gathering or who is going to be hosting DeSantis.

A person assisting with the fundraiser mentioned that many donors have been invited and will be attending the gathering in Utah, but they are trying to keep the Trump base from taking notice.

Good luck with that. 😑

Invites have been made verbally instead of any written forms of invitation to limit any living evidence or trails.

The meetings with DeSantis in Utah are likely to start early in the morning of July 19, according to the source.

Utah is known as a GOP stronghold…

Voters in Utah have elected a Republican in the last 6 presidential elections. Former President Donald Trump beat Joe Biden in the state by 20% in 2020.

DeSantis Doesn’t Want to Provoke Trump

The source also added that part of the reason for the discretion of this event is to avoid seeming as though he is preparing to take on Donald Trump in the 2024 primary.

An Emerson College poll shows Trump as a clear favorite over any other possible contenders for the 2024 Republican nomination.

The poll showed Trump with 55% of support from voters if he were to run for the Republican nomination, with DeSantis at only 20%.

Roger Stone recently endorsed former President Trump and said the former president would likely be announcing his candidacy in a few weeks on the PBD Podcast.

DeSantis has Many Donors Willing to Support His Candidacy

DeSantis has become a favorite of most GOP donors, with many of them helping him raise more than $100 million for his 2022 run for re-election in Florida and looking for alternatives to be their Republican nominee for president in 2024.

Axios reported that an outside group is gathering over 1 million names of DeSantis supporters in case the Florida governor ends up running for president.

In a recent interview, Trump said he gets along with Governor DeSantis and did not rule out having the Florida governor as his running mate if the former president ran again for the White House in 2024.
