Tales From The Crypto: The NBA’s Dallas Mavs Are Now Accepting Dogecoin.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is as forward thinking of any professional owner of sports.

He got into the crypto currency trend early, announcing back in May of 2019 that the team would begin accepting bitcoin.

Now the Mavs are going to also accept dogecoin for purchasing tickets and team merch.

Cuban was quoted in DealBook saying his team has decided to start doing this “because we can? Sometimes in business, you have to do things that are fun.”

The Shark Tank star is a fan of dogecoin, and tweets about it fairly regularly, including a post recently that he was buying some dogecoin to provide a life lesson for his son on investing.

Dogecoin has been in the news a whole lot lately, especially because of the celebrities that have shown an interest in it.  The cryptocurrency popped 25% with a one word Tweet from Elon Musk in February. 

The value is up 825.24% since last year at this time.
