In the category of “politicians seemingly have no shame,” 82-year-old Nancy Pelosi is lobbying Joe Biden to hook her up with the Ambassador to Italy job if she loses her House Majority Speaker role this fall.

The San Francisco native may want to avoid her hometown altogether, considering the mess it has become under progressive leadership. Fox News reports she’s trying to get “The Big Guy” to hold that Italian ambassador position for her.

It’s still open. In fact, It’s one of about 25% ambassador positions that Biden has yet to select someone for.  Almost two years after being elected, Biden has only appointed 101 people for the sought-after foreign roles.

It’s customary for Presidents to hold the cushy ambassador roles for special friends. People that do a little bit extra to help them get elected, like big donors or political operatives working behind the scenes.

Pelosi has her eye on the job in Rome most likely because it’s loaded with perks, including a private residence called Villa Taverna that has a pool, a three-story wine cellar (which might be a problem considering the issues her husband has had recently,)  and private gardens.

Fox tried to get her office to confirm that she was hot for the position but did not receive a callback.

Pelosi was first elected in 1987 and has a winning streak of 18 consecutive elections.
