Tom Brady’s touchdown pass Sunday that gave the Tampa Bay Bucs a 21-0 lead over the Bears wasn’t just any old play. It was TD 600 for TB12.  The 600th career touchdown pass for the G.O.A.T., just another record that has no chance in hell of ever being broken for the 44-year old who leads the NFL in touchdown passes this season.

So anyway, about the football Mike Evans caught for the historic score.  HE handed it to a fan in the stands named Byron Kennedy.  Nice little price for Kennedy, considering memorabilia experts believe the ball is worth a half million dollars.

Well, here’s the problem for Kennedy; he got swept up in the moment, and when Bucs’ team officials found in the stands to negotiate getting the ball back fro Brady, the guy caved way too easily.

And that’s according to Tom Brady, not me.  Brady appeared on the Monday Night Football broadcast of the Manning brothers Monday night, and said Kennedy should have held out for more than a $1,000 gift card to the Bucs team shop and a game used football a team trainer offered him.

“There was a lot of negotiations to get the ball back. Byron realized he lost all of his leverage when he gave the ball away. He should have held it so he would have had as much leverage as possible.”

Peyton Manning jumped in with his opinion of what Kennedy should have done.

“If he had held it, he would have been sitting in the Tom Brady suite for the rest of the season.  Amateur move on his part.”

So all kidding aside, the guy did make a big mistake buckling under the celebrity pressure of Brady. But there’s a reason Brady is the biggest star in team sports, as he’s doing right by the guy by hooking him up with something a little more valuable than a used game ball.

“I think it worked out. I am also giving him a Bitcoin. That’s pretty cool too. At the end of the day, I think he’s still making out pretty well.”

Since a single Bitcoin was valued at about $62,000 Monday, Kennedy did better than a shopping spree of worthless Bucs’ team gear, but a far cry for $500K.
