President Biden chuckled Wednesday night at a gathering filled with House Democrats in Baltimore, addressing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s claims that the deaths of two Michigan brothers occurred under the Biden administration.

Biden’s remarks at the gathering began with sarcastic comments towards Greene saying, “A little bit of more of Marjorie Taylor Greene and a few more, you’re gonna have a lot of Republicans running our way. Isn’t she amazing? Whew.”

What happened next came a bit out of left field.

“I was the reason, she was very specific, I shouldn’t digress probably. I’ve read she was very specific recently saying that a mom, a poor mother who lost two kids to fentanyl, that I killed her sons. Well, the interesting thing: that fentanyl they took came during the last administration [he-he].”

His comedy bit was cut short after the insensitive clap-back was met almost immediately with confused silence.

Rebecca Kiessling, mother to sons Caleb, 20, and Kyler, 18, who died during the summer of 2020 after taking what they thought was Percocet, testified to the House Homeland Security Committee Tuesday that more should be done to stop fentanyl imports.

When referring to the fentanyl epidemic, Kiessling said, “We have a weather balloon from China going across the country. Nobody died, and everybody’s freaking out about it. But 100,000 die every year, and nothing’s being done. Not enough is being done.”

Fentanyl poisoning has become a major leading cause of death in the United States, resulting from the massive flood of undocumented immigrants smuggling deadly drugs across the southern border.

It’s fair to agree that poking and attempting to make light of a tragic death of any American for the sake of deflecting any personal blame is inappropriate – not to mention a demonstration of weak leadership.
