Things in Hollywood are not alright, alright, alright with Matthew McConaughey, who slammed Tinseltown elites who “condescend” and “patronize” conservatives.

McConaughey made the comments on Russell Brand’s podcast “Under the Skin” in response to Brand’s comment “[There is] a kind of offhandedness, like, ‘Oh, they’re dumb, they’re voting for Brexit, they’re voting for Trump.’ I don’t like it, and I don’t like to hear it.” McConaughey responded by saying, “There are a lot [of people] on that illiberal left that absolutely condescend, patronize, and are arrogant towards the other 50%.

“Many people, I’m sure you saw it, in our industry, when Trump was voted in four years ago, they were in denial that it was real. Some of them were in absolute denial,” McConaughey said.

As for the current election outcome, McConaughey said, “It looks like Biden’s our guy. Now you’ve got the right that’s in denial, because their side has fake news. And I understand, they’ve been fed fake news. No one knows what the hell to believe, right? So, they’re putting down their last bastion of defense.”

McConaughey advocated for a middle-of-the-road approach from both sides, calling for the left and right to get “aggressively centric,” but he said the “two vehicles on either side of the political aisle are so far apart their f—ing tires aren’t even on the pavement anymore.”
