The writer’s strike in Hollywood could potentially thwart the expansion of an interesting storyline weaved into a character on the children’s show Transformers: EarthSpark, surrounding the non-binary robot character Nightshade, who makes sure to point out the audience that ranges from two to 11-year-olds that her pronouns are they/them.

The gender-neutral storyline was on an episode that aired months ago, but social media clips are surfacing now showing some of the odd scenes from the show, and it’s outraging many parents.

The scene causing the uproar is when Nightshade says, ‘My pronouns are they/them,’ and then a human character named Sam follows with, “Thanks. I’m she/they…I’m sorry for how I reacted.”

Nightshade responds by saying, “It’s just sometimes the world can be a scary place. It’s hard to know who’s dangerous or not.” And then Sam ties it all together for the pre-kindergartners watching by saying, “I know I’m safe when I’m with my friends or other non-binary people.”

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly commented, “This is DISGUSTING.”

Someone else on Twitter posted, ‘OH, so people who are ‘non-binary,’ by default, are safe and trustworthy. THAT is the message here. Got that kids?”

Another person wrote, “Stranger Danger, UNLESS the person identifies as non-binary and tells you their pronouns. THEN and only then are they a good person and TOTALLY trustworthy.”

The woke mob was loud and proud, championing the show’s courage to bring this type of messaging to extremely young children, with one saying, “What’s the issue? Great message for kids about inclusion and acceptance.”

Here’s one more, ”I see nothing wrong… it’s okay to be different… peace.”

The best response, or at least the most creative was this one, They really putting the trans in transformers.”
