CNN reported that an organization called GreatFire.org helps Chinese people avoid censorship by the government, and they’ve noticed massive amounts of spam tweets about dating.
Experts monitoring the situation have seen Twitter accounts that are seven years old have sent out over 3,000 tweets in a single day. Those are the only tweets some accounts had sent.
Communist leader Xi Jinping has tightened the screws on citizens in an impossible attempt at zero covid, and the lockdowns have now led to chaos in many cities.
This suppression campaign by bot accounts is exactly what Elon Musk was hoping to avoid in the future after purchasing the company. He’s declared war against bots and spammers, but some are concerned the massive drop in headcount at the corporate office has limited his ability to respond.
