Just like everything else in life, you can achieve the body of your dreams if you put your mind to it.

Do you ever feel like no matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to lose the weight?

Consistency and self-control are KEY.

Here are 5 ways to Lose Weight Without Even Trying:

1. Stick to REAL Foods

This means NO processed foods. At the least, try and keep processed foods at nothing more than 10-15% of your diet.

Processed foods are known to have added chemicals in them that literally make you addicted to them. That’s why we are always craving more and more after consuming them. It’s never enough!

I have found it’s best to just avoid them altogether and replace these processed snacks with healthier, more filling alternatives.

2. Trash the Treats and Snacks that Will Tempt You

I don’t know about you, but I literally cannot stop munching once I’ve started.

The more frequently we eat these snacks, the more we crave them.

Scientifically, it’s not even our fault! The additives in sugary treats and salty snacks like Dorritos make our bodies and brains chemically addicted to them, similar to drugs.

3. Replace Sweet Treats with FRUIT

Do you eat fruit?

Do you eat enough fruit?

I’ll put money on it that you don’t because the CDC has revealed that only 10% of Americans are eating enough fruits and vegetables.

This means that Americans are not even hitting the recommended daily intake, which is much lower than the amount you probably should be eating. You can never eat too much fruit (unless you’re a diabetic), so don’t be afraid of the natural sugars!

Besides the fact that fruit is nature’s candy, it’s so good for you and loaded with vitamins, antioxidants, and free radicals that support your health, skin, and everything in between.

Fruit is one of the best foods you can consume because it’s not cooked so none of the nutritional value is lost via heat (like vegetables).

4. Put Your Mind to It and NEVER GIVE UP!

The mind is more powerful than the body.

It can be hard to have self-control, but once you train your body and mind to stop consuming sugary or salty snacks whenever you get a craving, you will be amazed at how quickly the body adapts. The secret is you have to have some self-control. Don’t tell me you can’t.

You have to prioritize what you want more.

Flat tummy or brownies? Pirate Booties or toned arms?

It takes about 30 days to form a habit.

Be patient, forgive yourself, and never give up.

5. Drink More Water

I know, everyone always mentions this one but it needs to be reinforced because SOME PEOPLE don’t drink enough!

You know who you are 😉 We all have our weaknesses. You just need to be reminded!

Carry a re-usable & filtered water bottle like this one with you at all times so you don’t forget until the habit becomes instilled into your mind. The best part is that it has a built-in filter and you can fill it up practically anywhere!

Staying hydrated is so important for our health for a variety of reasons.

6. Ease into It

Asking someone to do a complete 180° on their diet is just ridiculous. There is no reason to do that to yourself.

Ease into it, slowly.

If you eat a lot of processed foods, trying cutting out 25%, then 50%, then 75%, at whatever pace works best for you. Maybe the first week you eat 25% less processed foods and the second week you bump it up to 50%.

Remember, your body is chemically addicted to processed foods. Quitting junk food causes withdrawals like drug addiction, according to research. When you consume sugar, dopamine tricks your brain into thinking that it needs to seek out what caused the pleasure  — in this case, a sugary treat or Doritos — over other, healthier options.

7. Make it a Lifestyle

Don’t feel pressured to lose the weight in a few weeks.

You need to make this a lifestyle and stick with it. If you fall back into your old habits after shedding the weight, there’s no point in even bothering to lose the weight temporarily.

Achieving optimum health should be the primary focus of your weight loss and the most important reason you desire to lose weight.

When you have the right mindset, you can achieve anything.
