San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa has been hit with an $11,255 fine from the NFL after interrupting a post-game interview last month while sporting a “Make American Great Again” and mimicking President-elect Donald Trump’s signature dance. Bosa’s on-camera antics–for which he has expressed no regrets–came just after the star player sacked Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield during a 23-20 win on October 27.

According to the NFL, Bosa’s actions violated Rule 5, Section 4, Article 8 of the league’s rulebook, which states: “Throughout the period on game-day that a player is visible to the stadium and television audience (including in pregame warm-ups, in the bench area, and during postgame interviews in the locker room or on the field), players are prohibited from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office.”

Despite the fine, Bosa remains unapologetic, expressing satisfaction with Trump’s electoral victory and stating that the penalty was “well worth it.”

“Well, I don’t think my position on speaking about it is going to change,” Bosa told reporters after last week’s election. “Clearly, the nation spoke, and we got what we got.”
