To outside observers, the City of Portland is a chaotic mess, and what happened over the weekend did nothing to dispel that perception. In what was called the “Indigenous Peoples’ Day of Rage,” in protest of the Christopher Columbus holiday, Antifa rioters toppled statues of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. President Trump tweeted out multiple messages of outrage and continued to offer federal support despite the fact that the City has not taken him up on yet.
“The FBI and Law Enforcement must focus their energy on ANTIFA and the Radical Left, those who have spent the summer trying to burn down poorly run Democrat Cities throughout the USA!” the president wrote in one of many tweets.
“Taking advantage of fools. Law & Order! Portland, call in the Feds!” Trump said in another posting.
The self-proclaimed “law and order” President was endorsed over the weekend by the Florida Police Chiefs Association, in addition to earlier endorsements from the Fraternal Order of Police and the International Union of Police Associations.
“These are Biden fools. ANTIFA RADICALS. Get them FBI, and get them now!” Trump wrote, and added, “Put these animals in jail, now. The Radical Left only knows how to take advantage of very dumb ‘leadership’ fools. This is Biden! Law & Order!” in another.
In another tweet, the President said he will be able to stop this type of rioting if re-elected..
“The Radical Left fools in Portland don’t want any help from real Law Enforcement which we will provide instantaneously. Vote!” he said.
