Long Island happens to be one of the most expensive places to live in America. Since the pandemic began, home values have only increased and inventory has become even more difficult, as a result of the city dwellers attempting to escape the tyrannical, mandated and closed-down city of Manhattan.

1. Sands Point, NY

Sands Point is believed to have inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald’s fiction novel “The Great Gatsby.”

In the novel, the author referred to Sands Point Village as the East Egg settlement where the “rich” and “materialistic” people resided.

Sands Point is a village at the tip of Port Washington Peninsula in Nassau County in New York. It covers almost 3000 acres and is home to about 2,720 residents who love living in a quiet and rural environment by the shores of the sky blue and vast waters of the North Atlantic Ocean. Sands Point is about 29.4 miles from Manhattan.

Sands Point was originally owned by 3 families: the Sands, the Vanderbilts, and the Cornwells.

8. Lloyd Harbor, NY
